How can we tackle the topic of evaluation in a disinterested, creative and forward-looking manner? How can we debate, in a thorough and honest manner, about the usefulness, the successes, but also the difficulties of education work done by cultural organizations with community organizations, formal education and professional training measures?
What effects do these projects have? What are the effects on the participants, the artist‐leaders, the cultural, education or community organizations that run them or take part in them, the community in which they take place, the political or private‐sector sponsors?
What do they mean to those who do not commit in education projects, be this because they do not believe in them‐ or are simply not interested? What does all this mean for evaluation?
This wide range of fascinating questions will provide the basis for the debates and speakers’ inputs of the 2011 Aix‐en‐Provence meeting, organized by the education department of the Festival in cooperation with RESEO, The European Network for Opera and Dance Education.
Participation is free of charge.
